First nice day of 2016 that was at the weekend at least. Go karting run and straight back under cover. Fitted the trafficator chrome trim whilst she was out though.
Today : Mostly Sunny
Conditions : Dry
Temp : 8°
Journey : Woodley and back
Distance : 13 miles
There has been A LOT of rain at the start of this year. But only slightly damp under the covers, so happy enough. Started with ease after a 3 week lay off in the cold and wet,so also another reason to be happy. Nice to get behind the wheel again!
Last night with some friends over we were looking at old pictures of the locality again. Found another Somerset in one of the pictures. This time driving down a main street in Bracknell. No worries about trying to recreate that scene though - it's all been knocked down and bulldozed now!
It's apparently a picture from 1962 and it's interesting how (I feel) the Somerset and the A35 going the other way look out of place already, compared to the sharper lined cars around them)
Acknowledgement and any copyright to this Bracknell and a bit of Wokingham Flickr Album that was chocked full of great pics that we browsed!
The mostly dull, few years story of my ownership of a 1954 Austin A40 Somerset. From buying her on 25th Aug 2013 to selling her and her being taken away on 22nd April 2017. For my own interest, but probably much to the amusement of any long established Austin enthusiasts who stumble across this. And if reading my stories of joy (and woe) is any use to any newbie like me who is thinking of getting into something similar then that's a bonus.
