Journey 29th June 2015 - And home again - the REALLY long way!

Picking her up after just under a week garaged. No smell, no petrol leak therefore, just getting her back. Any continuing leak would have been especially noticeable due to REALLY warm spell we are having. So very happy that there is not a leak anymore. Slightly different journey to bring Amy home again, instead of heavy rain it was glorious sunshine. Mainly it was the weather that was to blame for the length of journey. Lovely summer evening. Rather nice day for a drive - a journey that should only be about 5 miles home!

Today : Clear blue skies
Conditions: Muggy and warm
Temp : 23°
Journey : Home from Parents House
Distance: 25 miles !!

Bar the drive home from Cranleigh area after having collected her, it turned into the longest single stint journey I have ever done in her, No smoke when got home (unlike Cobham and Brooklands once). Think that pretty much proves the "over topping up" on the oil theory.

All good!

Journey 22nd June 2015 - To bed for a bit

After the MPG test, it was suggested that Amy could still have a petrol leak. Visually there is nothing to suggest this, but the last leak was only identified when I tried to put her to bed for the Winter earlier this year. So just tucking her up for a week in the garage to see if there is any smell to indicate a continuing leak. Hoping not to be honest. But it'll be a fair test. And it will still leave me the question of why the consumption is so bad. This tankful seems to be doing better, but reserving judgement.

Today : Cloudy
Conditions : Mild with Heavy Rain!
Temp : 14°
Journey : Parents House
Distance: 6 miles

The weather was SUPPOSED to be clear. Half way there it tipped down! But was dry and bright again later, so by the time we drove her into the garage she was warm and dry.

Journey 19th June 2015 -The Roebuck

Friday lunchtime at the pub! Nuff said.

Today : Sunny
Conditions : Warm and dry
Temp : 18°
Journey : The Roebuck, Binfield
Distance: 5 miles

Journey 18th June 2015 - Woodley "Airfield"

Dog walk at lunchtime, basically to Dinton Pastures, but wanted a longer drive so went around the houses a bit and parked up at the Museum of Berkshire Aviation.

Today : Mostly Sunny with some Fine Light Cloud
Conditions : Warm and Dry
Temp : 20°
Journey : Long way around for a dog walk! Woodley.
Distance : 17 miles

The aircraft on display outside the museum is a contemporary vehicle to the Somerset.

Journey 12th June 2015 - Work and about

Just to work again, home via a dog walk in Bracknell (Jocks Lane) and Wokingham for a coffee! Rain today, but will soften the dirt as Amy needs a wash anyway, so given her the once over this evening to get her basically clean and will buff up tomorrow when it has stopped again!

Today : Cloudy
Conditions : Mostly dry, but some showers
Temp : 14° (morning) - 22° (afternoon)
Journey : Just to work and back with some around and about.
Distance : 9 miles

Yet another dull dog walk location, with the wife's car next door this time. Kind of a car's grab a granny night. 1 (and a half) year old Kia sidled up to my 61 (and a half!) year old Austin. 60 years is just too much of a gap in any relationship. It just won't work.

Journey 11th June 2015 (again) - Frog & Wicket

Ok, so got carried away this evening!

Today : Sunny to dusk
Conditions : Bright and Dry
Temp : 21° - 17° (evening)
Journey : Frog and Wicket
Distance : 13 miles

So the intention was initially just to drop Izzie off at swimming. Aha - new boring location for a photo that I haven't done so far, Carnival Pool!:

Then, I'd figured Reggie could come out too and take him for a walk. New boring woodland location (so at least tried a different angle with the pic). At Simons Wood:

Finally, I knew where this was leading, because the Frog and Wicket pub had advertised their new Classic Car evenings. Lovely pub, cricket match in progress across the road. Got the wife and kids down too (yes still with Reggie in tow).

So of course...Photo opportunities galore, been a bit greedy today!

Journey 11th June 2015 - Work

Weather too nice to not get Amy out of bed early and into work! Despite being one of the really short journeys that I want to avoid these days, the odd one wont hurt.

Today : Sunny
Conditions : Bright and Dry
Temp : 12° (morning) - 22° (afternoon)
Journey : Just to work and back
Distance : 5 miles

And although I thought I had done enough "Car at Work Shots", I haven't done one for a while, so one for 2015.

Tuesday 9 June 2015

Journey - 9th June 2015 - Brooklands ACCC

Gotta love Brooklands, myself and a good friend went this evening. Met up with the ACCC guys as normal, but also took more time out looking at the other cars with my mate! And exploring the few areas of the clubhouse that are accessible!

Today : Cloudy
Conditions : Dull and Dry
Night Temp : 12° dropping to 10°
Journey : Brooklands ACCC
Distance: 40 miles

50's Budget family car sandwiched between anything but!

Aston Martin DB2 in front. Around £200k's worth of car!!

Jaguar MK IV behind I think, judging by the size of the headlights.

Nice nighttime shot before making a break for home:

Journey 7th June 2015 - Go Karting and Dog Walking

OK so perhaps unsurprisingly, Amy's usage is definitely on the uptick. Reliability (fingers crossed!) and good weather equal much more motivation to drive her. By the time I had done Go Karting with Robbie in the Morning then gone out with the rest of the family and Reggie for a walk in the afternoon then it was a fair old session today. With the  weather being nice and warm, I was almost to the point I was glad to get home!

Today : Bright and Sunny, few light clouds
Conditions : Clear and warm
Temp: 16° to 19°
Journey : Woodley then Barkham and around
Distance : 27 Miles

New picture, parked up at The Coombes. Another boring, indistinct woodland location! But the whole place IS very nice. As we got back to the car, there was a chap hanging around and wanted to me to put him out of his misery if Amy was a Devon, or what. I put him right of course and had a nice chat about Dorsets, Somersets, Cambridges etc...

Wednesday 3 June 2015

Journey 3rd June 2015 - Pub(s)!

Summer's here allegedly! With some cracking weather on the card, so Wednesday night was pub night and an Amy night all rolled into one. Took in a couple of nice country pubs and took the opportunity to have a good little run out at the same time.

Today : Partly Cloudy
Conditions : Clear, Dusk to Night
Temp : 15° dropping to 10°
Journey : Couple of pubs in Eversley / Yately area
Distance: 21 miles
