The remaining underseal was on solid and it was all shiny under what came off, so decided to leave it put.
There was a small rust hole, which I soldered. Can just see the small lump slightly in from the bottom left hand corner as viewed.

Preparing the outside of the tank
The remaining underseal was on solid and it was all shiny under what came off, so decided to leave it put.

The fuel tank would be better finished with a protective coat of POR epoxy. This would also seal any tiny imperfections.
ReplyDeleteGood shout. Doing that on the inside. "Tank Kleen" first and then "Slosh", which I believe has the same (or at least similar) effect. That's the next job. rust.co.uk
